I do not agree with the worldview of this film because as most of you know, I'm not all that big into the drug scene. especially involving cocaine... it's just not my thing. on the more serious side, the views seen in the movie are very risky and living life on the very edge of getting caught and that is a way i don't see as safe for yourself or other associated with you. the morals portrayed in American Gangster give us a view at how life is and was back then and how it has obviously escalated in many different ways may they be good or bad.

American Gangster
The worldview that the film American Gangster portrays is one of self satisfaction. Denzel Washington plays the role of a man who is all about his family. He makes his name "Frank" well known in the drug dealing scene in Harlem by how he deals with situations and how uncommon they are. Some values seen in this film are: money makes it better, amount of money = amount of power, family is everything, reputation is everything.

The whole idea of living "on the edge" has always been one that's interesting to me. I agree with what you said, that living this way isn't safe for yourself or those associated with yourself. At the same time, I believe God has created people, especially men, to live "on the edge" at times... to not cower away from the darkness of the world and to feel powerful. The problem is where the line should be drawn. In this case, I think the whole adrenaline drive has clearly been taken to far.
